American company awarded Defence contract

A company in the American city of San Diego has been awarded a New Zealand Defence Force contract worth more than $6 million.

Cubic Range Design Solutions has been tasked with designing, supplying and installing a high-tech firing range and training facility in this country.

Bill Toti, president of Cubic Global Defense, said as part of the contract, Cubic would provide a realistic live-fire training environment designed to international safety standards.

The facility is expected to have urban, maritime and aviation capabilities, including features like bullet traps and electronic targetry.
