Benjamin Levin is a former deputy minister of education in the Ontario Provincial Government and a former Professor of Education at the University of Toronto.

In a Toronto court, Levin today pleaded guilty to charges of possessing and creating child pornography as well as counselling an adult to commit an offence against a child.

He was arrested in Canada in July 2013 following information supplied by an undercover New Zealand Internal Affairs investigator.

The information was gathered during several months of online chat between the two men.

Former police officer Ross Mclean, who was following the case, said the evidence revealed Levin's offending included finding vulnerable parents online and grooming them to sexually assault their children.
