The former National MP Tau Henare has been convicted and fined for breaching a name suppression order on social media.
On Twitter last year, Mr Henare revealed the identity of a New Zealander who committed an indecent act in 2011 and who had been granted permanent name suppression.
Mr Henare appeared in the Waitakere District Court today.
He had initially pleaded not guilty to breaching a name suppression order but said he changed his plea to guilty today.
He said he was fined $1,200 dollars as well as $130 in court costs.
