A Cosmopolitan Club in South Auckland will let its members to vote on whether it should allow people wearing turbans onto the premises.
Sikh community leader Karnail Singh was refused entry to the Manurewa club last year for wearing a turban.
Following mediation with the Human Rights Commission, it's been decided club members will vote on whether to exempt the turban from the rule banning headwear.
A spokesperson for Karnail Singh, Virpal Singh, says the community leader is satisfied with the outcome, and the club has apologised for the humiliation he felt.
The vote on turbans will be taken at the Cosmopolitan Club's Annual General Meeting in June.
