A 24-year-old man is dead after the tractor he was driving slid down a hill on a farm in East Otago today.
Senior Sergeant Craig Brown said emergency services were called at 10.42am after a tractor rolled on a rural property near Waikouaiti. The driver was found dead.
The man was towing a fertiliser trailer and a scene examination indicated the tractor and trailer had rolled over and the driver thrown from the tractor cab.
Worksafe New Zealand had been informed of the incident.
