A man is in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Tokoroa.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances that led to the incident in Cramond Road just after noon today.
They are speaking with a woman about the incident but cannot confirm whether the 20-year-old man was deliberately injured.
Cramond Road was cordoned off while detectives and crash investigators examined the scene.
The injured man was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.
A hospital spokesperson said he was in the intensive care unit and was in a critical condition.
