A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a truck at Whakamarama in the Western Bay of Plenty.
The crash happened just after 8pm, near the intersection of Gills Lane and the highway.
Emergency services were unable to save the man, who died at the scene.
The truck driver was uninjured.
Traffic was being diverted via Munro and Te Puna Quarry roads.
The Police Serious Crash unit was investigating.
