Police in Invercargill are on the lookout for two men after the armed robbery of a dairy in the city this evening.

Officers were called to the Crinan Street dairy at about 7.30pm after two Caucasians, believed to be in their early 20s, entered the store and threatened the staff with a knife.

The men made off on foot with some cash.

Police said one of the men was wearing a blue sweatshirt with a hood and the second a grey sweatshirt with a hood.

They both had cloth material covering their faces.

The shop assistant was unhurt but police want to hear from anybody with any information.
