Three teenagers are in hospital in Auckland with burns, believed to have been suffered in a huffing incident.

The ambulance service was called to Papakura police station at 8.15pm.

Two teenagers who were there had suffered 30 percent burns to their legs, arms and faces and were taken to Middlemore Hospital.

They told staff five of them had been huffing in a garage.

A third teenager later went to hospital himself for treatment.

Ambulance services said the other two people should seek medical attention quickly, to avoid the risk of infection.
