Police are investigating a sexual assault near a Hamilton church.
The 44-year-old woman was assaulted about 8.45pm yesterday near Sare Cresent in Fairfield.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Grace says the woman was confronted by two men who assaulted her and then sexually assaulted her near the Baptist church on Heaphy Terrace.
A scene examination is underway.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 8.30pm and 9.15pm yesterday to contact them if they saw or heard anything suspicious.
