Paraglider blown into rock face

A paraglider has suffered serious leg injuries after being blown into a rock face at a Taranaki beach.

Emergency services picked up the 37-year-old man from Back Beach in New Plymouth and took him to Taranaki Base Hospital by ambulance.

Paramedics say the man was caught by a sudden gust and hit the cliff face 15 metres up, falling to rocks below.
