Plans have been unveiled for improvements to sports stadiums in Auckland worth $30 million.

Council agency Regional Facilities Auckland is proposing a $12 million dollar new roof for Albany's QBE Stadium, plus an extra 11,000 seats.

Another $12 million could go on an International Cricket Council compliant oval at Western Springs, with the aim to help Auckland Cricket move from its current base at Eden Park.

Mount Smart could get a share of $1 million dollars for training facilities, plus money towards co-investment for speedway.

The investment plan could be implemented in the next four to five years, though it has yet to be approved.
