An intellectually disabled teenager has been found safe and well after going missing from her family home last night.
The 13-year-old, who has an intellectual age of eight, went missing from her home about 7pm yesterday and was last seen at 1am near Melville Park.
A police spokesperson said she was found in the Hamilton central business district today.
"She is fit and well and being reunited with her family," the spokesperson said.
"Hamilton police wish to thank the many members of the public who assisted in locating (her) after she went missing late last night."
Police had held serious concerns for her safety, the spokesperson said.
