Manu Samoa assistant coach Alama Ieremia says the chance to host the All Blacks in Apia is a very proud moment for the country of his birth.

The historic match was confirmed this week, with New Zealand to play their first ever test in the Pacific Islands, in Apia on July the eight.

Ieremia debuted for Samoa in 1992 and played in the first test encounter between the two nations in 1993, before switching to the black jersey a year later.

He says playing in the Pacific will be a new experience for the world champions.

"Probably one of hottest games that's going to be played. A different type of rugby up in the islands - obviously it's a different atmosphere as well with the crowd and the festivities that go on with all that so it's going to be pretty exciting but, as I mentioned, it is a test match and we've got make sure that we actually put in a decent performance to make sure that we beat the All Blacks".
