A soldier is in a stable condition after suffering burns to his back during a training exercise at the Waiouru Military Camp this morning.
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter transported the man to Hutt Hospital, near Wellington.
The hospital says the soldier is in a stable condition.
The Defence Force says it will be investigating the incident, but refused to comment any further.
