A 1970s control panel, which has a Starship Enterprise look to it, needs a new home.
The Waikanae Water Treatment Plant, north of Wellington, is undergoing an upgrade, so the Kapiti Coast District Council wants to give away the large panel.
The water and wastewater plant's manager, Dave Bassett, said the control panel could be used for film or stage productions.
He says it weighed a couple of tonnes, so would need to be lifted off the site by a crane.
The upgrade of the treatment plant is expected to be completed by the middle of 2015.
