An Australian tourist is in a serious condition in Dunedin Hospital after falling from a hotel balcony in Queenstown in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The 19-year-old from New South Wales fell about 10 metres onto a concrete car park.
Police said he was staying with friends at the Glebe hotel and the group had been drinking alcohol.
Members of the man's family are travelling from Australia to be with him.
