A neighbourhood dispute in Gisborne prompted an Armed Offenders Squad callout on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said they were called after a person reported seeing a firearm at a neighbouring house, but nothing was found in a search of the neighbourhood.
Officers are talking to two people about the dispute.
