Murder case may be delayed

The trial of the man accused of killing Auckland woman Cissy Chen may have to be postponed because the defence don't yet have all the evidence from the case.

Yun Qing Liu is charged with murdering the 44-year-old, whose remains were found in Totaravale Park on the North Shore in March, 17 months after she was reported missing.

The trial is set down for October but at the High Court in Auckland on Tuesday defence lawyers said they had not received all the evidence they need to prepare for it.

Justice Graham Lang said lawyers would meet again later this month to decide whether the trial needs to be postponed.
