Federated Farmers has elected its vice-president, Dr William Rolleston, as its new president.
He replaces Hawke's Bay farmer Bruce Wills, who's stepped down at the end of his three year term.
The vote was held at the organisation's national conference in Palmerston North this on Friday morning.
Dr Rolleston farms at Blue Cliffs Station, in South Canterbury, which has been run by his family since 1879.
He's a doctor of medicine, with a medical degree from Otago University.
The new vice-president is Anders Crofoot, who farms at Castle Point Station, in Wairarapa.
