A search has begun for a man three days overdue from a hunting trip on the West Coast.
The 35-year-old from Hokitika went into the area near Harihari last Tuesday and was expected to return on Friday.
Police said he is very experienced in the outdoors, but heavy rain in the area last week pushed up river levels.
They are using tracking dogs, kayaks, a helicopter and ground searchers to try and find him.
