A logging truck has rolled on Lewis Pass between Maruia Springs and Springs Junction, spreading logs across the road and blocking the route to traffic.
The driver received minor injuries in the crash.
The section of State Highway 7 was expected to be blocked to traffic throughout Friday morning, and motorists were advised to take alternative routes.
