A senior health practitioner convicted of sexual offences has been censured but will be able to continue working.
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has just released its decision on the unnamed health practitioner, who was convicted in the High Court last year of sexual offences against a vulnerable and dependent teenager living at his home.
All details identifying the man, the victim, his work or his employer have been suppressed.
The tribunal said the sexual offending was significant, distressing and a breach of trust.
But it rejected a call to cancel his registration, instead suspending him for 18 months.
He was also ordered to pay $7000 towards costs and to work under conditions when he resumes work next year.
