Two men in their twenties are dead, after an early Friday morning crash near Kaeo in the Far North.
The men's south-bound car collided head-on with a truck-and-trailer-unit, just south of the small town - then collided with a vehicle following the truck.
The driver and front-seat passenger of the south-bound car died at the scene and a third person was injured.
Police are working to establish the cause of the crash.
