The man charged with the murder of Wellington woman Mei Fan has been refused bail.

Rongmei Fan, 37, was found stabbed to death in her Miramar home in November last year.
Lawyers for Michael Edwin Preston, 59, applied for bail in the High Court at Wellington on Friday.
Mr Preston is also charged with breaching a protection order.
Justice Williams refused bail but details of the hearing were suppressed.
