Gareth Boyt, 35, and his wife, Charlotte Boyt, 31, are charged with owning dogs which caused serious injury.

Sakurako Uehara, aged seven, from Japan, is still in Starship Children's Hospital, Auckland. Her condition is stable

The Boyts appeared before the registrar in Rotorua District Court on Wednesday morning and the case was adjourned until 28 May. They are yet to enter a plea.
