Inquest to hear from ground crew

10:09 am on 13 May 2014

An inquest into a ballooning tragedy in Wairarapa is likely to hear on Tuesday from ground crew who worked for the balloon company.

Pilot Lance Hopping and all 10 passengers were killed when the balloon hit powerlines and plummeted to the ground near Carterton in January 2012.

The Court may also hear from a pathologist and an ESR scientist who helped identify the crash victims.

On Tuesday a witness to the crash, Bronwyn Brewster, whose parents were in the balloon, said she watched in disbelief as it struck the powerlines and began burning.

The inquest is scheduled to run for four days.
