The former site for a contentious super brothel in Auckland is up for sale.
The property is owned by brothers, John and Michael Chow, who own strip clubs in Wellington.
The 522 square metre property on the corner of Federal Street and Victoria Street West went on the market on Saturday.
The Chow brothers wanted to build a 15 storey building housing a brothel and night clubs, sparking strong opposition from a number of groups.
Despite the controversy, the plans were recommended for approval by Auckland City Council but have since been up in the air.
Bayley's agent Colin McKenna, who is handling the sale, says it has already attracted a lot of interest.
Mr McKenna would not discuss a price but says it is in the highest intensive building zone with diverse development opportunities for apartments, retail and entertainment.
He says the owners could still decide to keep the property if they don't get the desired price.
