The family of a young man shot dead in Wellington wants a photograph of his alleged killer removed from an art exibition.
Alonsio Iafeta Matalasi was killed at his flat in Petone last year.
One of the men charged with his murder, Shane Harrison, has his photo featured in a Jono Rotman exhibition at Auckland's Gow Langsford gallery.
Mr Matalasi's step mother, May Barnard, says the gallery is sympathetic, but will not remove the photo.
Ms Barnard says the family wants Mr Rotman to withdraw the picture himself.
She says having Mr Harrison's image out there in the public eye, while he is still before the courts accused of the murder, is inappropriate.
The art gallery says it is up to the artist to make the call, but it has removed the photo from publicity and its website.
