Grey district mayor Tony Kokshoorn says main roads on the West Coast are now cleared of fallen trees, but many rural roads may still be impassable.
The Coast is undergoing a massive clean-up since the storm last week and Mr Kokshoorn said there is still lots to do.
The West Coast stretches over 600km and Mr Kokshoorn said new damage is being found each day.
''There are some rural roads where you can't even see the tarseal,'' he said.
However, workers are trying to clear access for farmers.
