A man has been charged over what police describe as a vicious rape in Auckland's Symonds Street cemetery.
They say a 34-year-old woman was attacked during the early hours of Saturday 15 March.
The woman suffered serious injuries to her head, body and legs and spent two days in hospital.
Police say a 28-year-old man was arrested on Saturday and is due to appear in court on Monday charged with abduction, aggravated wounding, rape and unlawful sexual connection.
