A car belonging to a missing Bay of Plenty woman has been found down a bank with a body inside. However, police cannot yet say if it is someone reported missing on Tuesday.
Kelly Sinclair, from Waihi Beach, was last seen at 11.20pm on Sunday when she left a friend's home in Katikati to go to Mt Maunganui.
A member of the public found her crashed car at Whakamarama, near Tauranga, on State Highway 2.
Police say there needs to be a formal identification and they cannot confirm whose body is in the vehicle.
