Napier manhunt after bank hold-up

6:04 pm on 4 April 2014

Police in Napier are searching houses for a suspected bank robber after a KiwiBank and Post Shop outlet was held up at gunpoint.

The man went into the Marewa branch about 9am on Friday and threatened a person with a gun. Some cash was handed over and the man left.

Detective Sergeant Heath Jones said police want to find Junior Jury. Another person has been arrested and is being spoken to.

Mr Jones said it is not known whether Mr Jury has a firearm, but the 40-year-old should be considered dangerous in light of the robbery.

Junior Jury is 1.7 metres tall and of solid build. He has long hair that he was wearing tied back. Clothes that he had on have been found dumped in an empty house in Maraenui - red shorts, a black top and a bandana.

Mr Jones said police are keen to get any information about where he might be and any tipoffs would be treated in confidence.
