A cyclist has died after being struck by a truck on Lincoln Rd in south Christchurch at about 6.40 on Wednesday morning.
Police say initial enquiries indicate that the truck and the female cyclist were both travelling north-east towards the city centre on Lincoln Road when they collided near the intersection with Domain Terrace.
The cyclist died at the scene.
Crash investigators have gone to the site and Lincoln Road was temporarily closed in both directions between Annex Road and Lyttelton Street while the scene was examined.
