Part of Auckland Airport's domestic terminal was evacuated briefly on Thursday morning.
A fire communications spokesperson says sprinklers in the Jetstar baggage hall were accidentally activated by workmen.
He says passengers and staff had to evacuate but were allowed back in within half an hour - shortly after 9am.
