NZ wins first Paralympic medal

New Zealand has won its first medal of the Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi.

Corey Peters, 30, has taken out a silver medal in the giant slalom sitting.

Peters is from New Plymouth, but is based in Wanaka.

He suffered a spinal cord injury in an accident in 2009 and only took up skiing in 2011.
