New Plymouth told to conserve water

10:01 am on 13 March 2014

New Plymouth residents are being told to cut back on their water use, because levels in the city's main water supply are now lower than during last year's drought.

A temporary ban on using sprinklers and unattended hoses is already in place throughout the region.

The district council's manager of water and wastes, Mark Hall, says water demand is increasing and everyone needs to conserve.
