A suburban Christchurch dairy owner is being told there is no longer room for him at a local shopping centre.
The supermarket chain Foodstuffs, which owns a Halswell complex in Halswell that's being rebuilt in a few weeks, says that with a supermarket being built there, a dairy is no longer needed.
The owner of the dairy, Keun Wook Yook, says his dairy is being singled out, because every other tenant in the centre has been offered a place in the new complex, and in his view Foodstuffs is trying to eliminate competition.
Foodstuffs' group communications manager, Antoinette Shallue, says the company is trying to find a new home for the dairy.
