'Vexatious litigant' ruling sought

9:51 am on 10 March 2014

Lawyers for the Crown will apply to the High Court on Monday to have a man who has had run-ins with several courts declared a vexatious litigant.

A full bench of the High Court, comprising Justice Ronald Young and Justice Brown, will hear the case in Wellington against Vince Siemer.

Mr Siemer has been imprisoned several times for contempt, including breaching court orders forbidding him from publishing information about Auckland insolvency accountant Michael Stiassny.

He also publishes a website, Kiwis First, which has been extremely critical of the judiciary.

The case is set down for a week.
