Two students have been hurt in a gas explosion at Auckland University of Technology.
A Fire Service spokesperson said gas in an oven at the university's city campus exploded just before 11am on Thursday, and two people suffered burns.
A university spokesperson said the accident happened in the university's commercial kitchen during a second-year hospitality class.
She said two students received minor burn injuries and were treated at the scene.
Three other students and a staff member who were present were unhurt.
The spokesperson said there was no fault with the oven and classes in the kitchen were continuing.
A St John ambulance spokesperson said one of the students was taken to hospital for treatment, and injuries to both were minor..
