Police have identified a man whose body was found on a remote beach near the mouth of the Kahurangi River on Sunday.
He was 72-year-old David Hutton from Ruby Bay near Nelson.
A post-mortem has been completed and preliminary results indicate that Mr Hutton died as a result of a fall.
