A 23-year-old driver has been killed in a collision in South Auckland and a second man has been taken to hospital after being located by police.
Two cars collided on Chapel Road, in Flat Bush, just after 4am on Monday and the sole occupant of one of the vehicles died.
Police say the driver of the second vehicle was seen by witnesses being picked up by another car. They say they later located the man and accompanied him to hospital.
Diversions were in place around Chapel Road on Monday morning.
The serious crash unit is investigating but officers do not yet know if alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
