The chief of Defence says any level of bullying or harrassment in the military is intolerable.
A Ministry of Defence report has found that women in the military still experience higher levels of bullying and sexual harassment than men, although the level of harassment has been improving.
It also says women are leaving the military at higher rates than men.
Lieutenant-General Tim Keating told Morning Report any level of bullying and harassment is too high.
But he said the biggest problem is the military not giving women enough opportunity to balance their careers with other life goals.
Lieutenant-General Keating said Defence will be looking for ways to change that and attract more women out of high school and university.
