Police now say a body found in a South Auckland creek is that of a man.
It was initially thought a woman's body had been found in Mangere East about 6pm on Friday. The death is being treated as unexplained.
Police say it appears the man died some time ago and there are no obvious signs of violence. They haven't yet been able to identify him.
The body's been taken for a post-mortem on Saturday.
