Waimakariri District Council has had to close its recycling centre for the second time because of concerns about a safety risk posed during high winds.
Southbrook Resource Recovery Park in Rangiora was closed 45 minutes on Sunday afternoon because employees were worried corrugated-iron sheets could be blown out of the steel bins there.
The recycling centre was closed in October for the same reason.
A council spokesperson Transpacific Industries is exploring what further measures need to be taken to better secure materials in the bins.
