Police have rescued three kayakers who were in trouble off Wellington's south coast.
A member of the public alerted police to the plight of the trio, all in a single double-kayak, off Island Bay on Thursday.
A police spokesperson says a Wellington Airport fire rescue boat was deployed just before 1pm.
