A woman has died in hospital after being pulled unconscious from a thermal pool in Tauranga.
Catherine Hintz from Palmerston North had been swimming in the pool at the Cameron Thermal Motel at Greerton and staff found her unconscious about 4.30pm on Tuesday.
The motel's manager pulled the 41-year-old from the water and performed CPR for 20 minutes. She was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a critical condition and died about 11.30pm.
Senior Sergeant Glenn Saunders, of Tauranga, said the death does not appear to be suspicious and has been referred to the coroner.
The woman's family have been informed.
