Police say a body found in the Nelson Lakes National Park on Friday is that of a missing British man.
No formal identification of the body has been made, but the clothing, age and size of the body all match the description of the missing tramper and the police are confident it is Andrew Wyatt.
Mr Wyatt, 41, was last seen alive on 15 December. He arrived in New Zealand on 21 November to walk the Te Araroa Trail, which links tracks from Cape Reinga to Bluff.
Constable Dave Cogger said Mr Wyatt's family in Britain have been informed.
