Cordons are surrounding a home north of Auckland as police investigate a woman's death.
They've launched a homicide investigation after her body was found at the Te Hana property before dawn on Monday.
Police say they were told the woman, who's thought to have been 26, suffered fatal trauma before they arrived.
It is likely he'll appear before a Justice of the Peace on Tuesday because the North Shore District Court has stopped hearing cases on Monday.
It's not yet clear what he will be charged with.
The body, police say, is still at the property while a scene examination is underway. Following that it will be taken for a post-mortem.
