Strong interest is being shown in tickets to attend the official commemoration service at Gallipoli in 2015, the centenary of the campaign.
Attendance at the event is restricted to 10,000 members of the public, with 8000 tickets allocated to Australia and 2000 to New Zealand.
Applications for a ballot for tickets closes on 31 January 2014.
So far, 5000 people from this country have registered and 19,000 from Australia.
Veterans' Affairs general manager Rick Ottaway says it's likely people over the holiday period will think about applying and the final number is expected to be high.
The result of the ballot will be known near Anzac Day next year.
